Medical First Aid Guide - Dangerous Goods (Poison Treatment Chest) This list of medicines and equipment should be carried in addition to the normal medical chest requirements by vessels carrying hazardous products and by vessels carrying containerised cargoes which may include hazardous products. There are three scales of quantities based on how far a vessel could be from being able to hospitalise a patient ashore if the need arose.
  • Scale A is for vessels which could be more than 24 hours away.
  • Scale B is for vessels which could be between 2 and 24 hours away.
  • Scale C is for vessels which would be under 2 hours away.
